Campaigns
Turning warm buying signals into personalized LinkedIn conversations.
What Is a Campaign?
A campaign turns warm leads into an automated series of LinkedIn actions. It combines the buying signal that surfaced each lead, their ICP match, and prospect research to create outreach that is specific to that person rather than a generic template.
For example, a simple campaign might look like this: send a connection request, wait 3 days, check if the lead accepted, then send a personalized follow-up about the topic, event, or activity that showed their intent. You can approve messages before they go out or let the campaign handle every step automatically.
Campaign Lifecycle
Every campaign goes through these stages:
Draft
The campaign is being set up. You are choosing a warm lead list, building the workflow, configuring personalization, and selecting sender accounts. Nothing is sent yet.
Active
The campaign is running. NetworkHQ researches and personalizes outreach for each lead, then executes the workflow through the assigned LinkedIn accounts.
Paused
You have temporarily stopped the campaign. No actions are being taken, but your progress is saved. You can resume anytime and it will pick up where it left off.
Completed
All leads in the campaign have been fully processed. The campaign is done.
Tip: You can also reset a completed or paused campaign. This clears all progress and returns it to Draft so you can start over with the same workflow.
The Workflow Builder
Campaigns are built visually, like a flowchart. You add steps one after another to define how a warm lead should move from first touch to conversation.
The first step is always a Lead List — this is where you choose the group of leads the campaign will target. A Lead Gen Agent can keep that list supplied with new ICP-fit prospects and the signal context used for personalization. After the list, add actions, waits, and branches in the order they should run.
The builder saves your work automatically as you make changes.
Signal-Aware Personalization
Before outreach begins, NetworkHQ researches each lead and drafts messaging around the actual reason they surfaced. That might be engagement with your own or a tracked LinkedIn post, engagement with a keyword-discovered post, a recent job change, recent funding, or recent LinkedIn posting.
The agent combines that signal with the lead's role, company, profile activity, and your product context. The result is a message that explains why the conversation is relevant now instead of simply inserting a name and company into the same template.
In the AI setup, provide your product details and campaign objective, then configure each message node's type and any phrases it must include. You can review and edit every generated draft, or enable automatic approval for the campaign when the output is ready to send without manual review.
Available Actions
These are the things a campaign can do on LinkedIn:
Send Connection Request
Sends a request to connect with the person, with an optional note personalized to their context.
Send Message
Sends a contextual direct message. The lead must already be a 1st-degree connection.
Send InMail
Sends personalized outreach using LinkedIn's InMail feature. This works before connecting but requires a LinkedIn Premium account.
View Profile
Visits the person's LinkedIn profile. They will see that you viewed their profile, which can spark curiosity.
Like Post
Likes one of the person's recent LinkedIn posts.
Comment on Post
Leaves a comment on one of the person's LinkedIn posts. You write the comment text in advance.
Follow
Follows the person on LinkedIn so their posts appear in your feed.
Wait Steps
A wait step pauses the campaign for a set amount of time before moving to the next action. You choose the delay — it can be minutes, hours, or days.
Wait steps are important for making your outreach feel natural. For example, after sending a connection request, you might wait 3 days before checking if they accepted and sending a follow-up message.
Conditions and Branching
After certain actions, the campaign can check what happened and take different paths depending on the result. This is called branching.
For example, after sending a connection request, the campaign can check: “Did they accept?” If yes, it goes down one path (like sending a message). If no, it goes down a different path (like viewing their profile instead).
Branching happens automatically when you add certain actions. You don't need to set it up manually — the platform creates the “yes” and “no” paths for you.
Actions that support branching:
- Send Connection Request — checks: Did they accept the connection?
- Send Message — checks: Did they reply to the message?
- Send InMail — checks: Did they reply to the InMail?
Approvals and Autopilot
Campaigns can give you direct control over AI-generated outreach or run end to end after you are comfortable with the results. In approval mode, personalized messages wait in the approval queue so you can review, edit, approve, or reject them before anything is sent.
Autopilot sends messages that meet your campaign rules without waiting for manual review. The same signal context, ICP reasoning, and prospect research remain visible, so you can audit why each message was created and learn which approaches convert.
Scheduling
You can control when a campaign runs so it only takes actions during appropriate hours. This includes:
- Which days of the week to run (e.g., Monday through Friday only)
- What time window to use (e.g., 9 AM to 5 PM)
- Which timezone to follow
- Optional start and end dates for the campaign
Scheduling helps your outreach appear natural and avoids sending messages at odd hours in your prospects' timezone.
Templates
If you build a workflow that works well, you can save it as a template. Templates let you reuse proven workflows without rebuilding them from scratch.
When creating a new campaign, you can choose to start from a template instead of a blank workflow. The template's steps will be pre-filled, and you can adjust them as needed.
Inbox and Reply Intent
Replies from every connected LinkedIn account flow into one NetworkHQ inbox. Each conversation keeps the lead, campaign, original buying signal, and outreach history together, so your team can respond without reconstructing why the person was contacted.
NetworkHQ tracks intent across every reply and highlights the conversations that are moving toward a meeting. Use unread state and lead context to prioritize responses, continue the conversation from the correct sender account, and focus your time on buyers who are ready to talk.
Tracking Progress
Each campaign has a Status page where you can see exactly what is happening with every lead:
- Which buying signal and Lead Gen Agent sourced each lead
- Which step each lead is currently on
- Whether personalized outreach is awaiting approval or has been sent
- Whether a lead is active, completed, or encountered an error
- Which LinkedIn account is handling each lead
- When the next action is scheduled
- Replies and the intent detected in each conversation
- A full history of every action taken for each lead
This gives you full visibility from the signal that found a lead to the message that started the conversation and the reply that may turn into a meeting.
